PS3’s stupid controller gets a stupid name

From New Launches -
Sony has decided to call the PS3’s wireless controller “Sixaxis” as it has sensors which allow it to sense linear motion along six axes, as well as tilt whereas the WiiMote has only 3 axis sensors. The Bluetooth controller charges when connected via the USB cable, after a full charge it is good for 30 hours of gaming. It becomes a wired controller when charging so you can continue playing.

Just in case the title of the post doesn’t tip you off, I’m not really into this controller. I think the fact that Sony tacked on the motion sensors like they did to be a sign of weakness for their systems capabilities. Do I think the Wii will be a graphically better than the PS3? Of course not, but I do think that the Xbox 360’s graphics will be able to to hold their own against the PS3. The Wii360 combo seems like a much better purchase to me. You get the innovative controller and the Nintendo franchises with the Wii, and Amazing graphics and traditional gameplay with the 360…and you can get them BOTH for roughly the same price as the PS3….
